Egsa SoftWorks Empowers Indie Media Outlets with the Egsa Premiere Program

(August 15, 2010) –Egsa SoftWorks in association with the new gaming imprint Egsa Press has announced the Egsa Premiere Program for podcasters, bloggers and media outlets. The Egsa Premiere Program gives indie media outlet advanced review copies of games and gaming books from Egsa SoftWorks and Egsa Press. One of the first offering available through Egsa Premiere is “The Armchair Historian’s Guide” (71 pp., tpb, $12.95).

Spaces in the Egsa Premiere Program are limited. Participants in the program are required to meet basic criteria to be selected for quarterly access to the program.

  • Print Publication interested in participating in the Egsa Premiere Program must have at least 3 previous issues.
  • TV, Cable or Radio Programs or Indie Video or Audio Podcasters/Bloggers interested in participating in the Egsa Premiere Program must have at least 6 previous episodes or updates.

New Book Helps Gamers Make History – The Armchair Historian’s Guide Arrives

(July 19, 2010) – The Last Gamers of The Old Code, Egsa SoftWorks has teamed up with new gaming imprint Egsa Press to deliver the first new book of the “Geo Age”. The Armchair Historian’s Guide (71 pp., tpb, $12.95) gives grassroots indie gaming fans the chance to make history. The Armchair Historian’s Guide takes readers on a world wind tour through the rich shared tradition of celebrating achievements in gaming to the new World Standings Network (WSN) – the first leaderboard for indie games.

The first edition of The Armchair Historian’s Guide will be available as a limited run signature edition. The Armchair Historian’s Guide 2010 Edition will be available for pre-order at the Egsa Outfitters (www.egsaoutfitters.com) beginning July 19th and is tentatively scheduled to be distributed by Egsa Press to global retailers in mid September.

Egsa SoftWorks Ushers in the ”Geo Age” at Video Game Summit 2010

(July 17, 2010) – Game developer Egsa SoftWorks ushered in the “Geo Age” with its official announcement of WSN at Chicago’s 2010 Video Game Summit. Previously displayed only behind closed doors, a special Video Game Summit 2010 Edition of The Prospector released at the seventh annual Midwestern summit of gaming enthusiasts marks the first ever public unveiling of WSN. The World Standings Network (WSN) is designed to unite competitive players of indie gaming by celebrating achievements in play. A line up of games supporting WSN is expected to be announced this fall.
