(Oct 31, 2012) – After re-igniting the tabletop genre, the legendary grognards of Egsa Press are set to introduce gamers to a brand new world beyond the tabletop. Inspired by the underground sensation, ShatterCaster: New Kingdom, Nomicon Saga is the first venture into fiction for Egsa Press. The first volume in the series, Nomicon Saga: Anthology One, is due just-in-time for the Halloween season with an October 13th limited release date and a November 13th wide release date.
Nomicon Saga transports readers into a different world, “a world most eyes cannot see, a place of shadows with substance, always lurking just beyond the day.” Nomicon Saga Anthology One is the first collection of tales from the horror/action adventure series. The first volume is filled with eleven short works set in the expanded universe created by the game ShatterCaster: New Kingdom. The series follows a band of friends and foes linked by the mysterious and ancient box-—a box that if found will change the life of the finder and open the door to a greater game.
Rather than a direct tie-in to the strategy and sorcery game ShatterCaster, Nomicon Saga charts its own course by mixing existing game-world mythology with new characters and constructs that extend the original game universe. While Nomicon Saga is considered a game world artifact of ShatterCaster, new readers and masters of ShatterCaster will find themselves right at home.
The print edition of Nomicon Saga Anthology One (ISBN: 978-0-9884167-5-8) will be available in for pre-order beginning at one minute after midnight on October 13th from the Egsa Outfitters (www.egsaoutfitters.com). Nomicon Saga Anthology One will be 228 pages in length with an MSRP of $12.95. An e-book version is slated for November 13. Additional tales from the Nomicon Saga Universe (Nomicon Saga Extremis) are currently available on premiere document-sharing websites such as Issu and Scribd.
